Canadian College of OsteopathyIn order to enroll in the Canadian College of Osteopathy (CCO), the applicant must:
Applicants who do not hold a university degree in Health or related Sciences must enroll in the Pre-Admissions Program, which is directed towards individuals who hold a certificate, registration or licence to practice a form of medicine or manual therapy, providing they have a minimum of 2,220 hours of training. The CCO principal program consists of five years (minimum 1,500 hours) of classroom study followed by one year of independent research resulting in an osteopathic thesis to be presented before an international jury. The CCO’s 5-year program consists of 34 classes providing a comprehensive blend of osteopathic philosophy, theory, methodology, technique and clinical application in a progressive cumulative manner. Upon graduation, a fully qualified osteopath will have taken over 3,700 hours of classroom training over seven or eight years of study, and will have completed and presented an osteopathic thesis.
